Does being a Super Jehovah's Witness involve wearing your underpants on the outside of your trousers??

How about setting a new date, not actually written anywhere, just implied, say like 2034??

God Loses Another Star
by Satanus inthe heavens declare the glory of god, his matchless qualities.
he calls the stars by name, not one is missing, except ...astronomers said a star about the size of our sun neared the black hole after veering off course following a close encounter with another star.. the effect is the same that the tug of the moon has on the earth's oceans, but with much more violent results.
the black hole consumed an estimated 1 percent of the doomed star, flinging the rest out into space.. .

SS,
I think this well represents the belief of the ancient bible writers in a 'static' universe, a universe that doesn't change. "And God made the two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night". According to Genesis the earth came first, then the sun and moon.
We know that the universe isn't static. Stars get swallowed by black holes, stars turn supernovae. Our earth is gradually losing energy and it's rotation is slowing, and the moon is slowly drifting away from the earth. Eventually the universe will expand into a dark, lifeless void.
I don't think this is too depressing, as we're talking millions if not billions of years in the future. It does put a bit of a question mark over the "You can live forever in paradise on earth" statement though.

I'm stupid, whats the biggest mistake you've ever made?
by dustyb inso who all here makes mistakes?
my single biggest mistake was being born...otherwise i'd have to say that my biggest mistake was taking up a hobby in extreme sports such as riding motorcycles and mountain bikes down buzy streets, and skateboarding.
doing all of this while i have a bone disease that severely limits my mobility now and in the future..... also posting my previous topic was retarded =d

Dansk,
You're right. I must be one of the very few City fans who doesn't actually come from Manchester!
Big game this weekend. No doubt I'll have to pay for the stick I gave to certain relatives after the 6-2 demolishion of Bolton earlier in the season. Only distant memories now, of course!

Here are a few of my biggest mistakes:
Deciding not to go to university because of being a JW. This was after passing for Cambridge to read mathematics! duurrgghhh.
Then trying to make a go of being a dub instead of getting out fast. This included dating a far too 'spritual' girl for nearly two years. Last I heard she had become a missionary in a jungle somewhere in Africa!
Another mistake was after finally leaving I then decided to have my teenage years during my 20's and spent far too much time partying, instead of trying to join the RAF which was something I'd always wanted to do, or get some kind of career going.
Oh, and in 1976 deciding whoever won one of the cup finals that year, either Manchester City or Manchester United would become my football team.
(actually the last mistake is one I'm happy with!)

A pertinent parable- who are you?
by Love_Truth inthere was this group of individuals, with backgrounds in diet and nutrition, who began to study the effects of food on the human body.
over many decades, they continued their study, along with publishing many books on the subject.
adherents to their beliefs believed the information so wholeheartedly, and believed that the effects of the diet were so positive, that they told all their friends and family members, neighbors, and even strangers about it.

Another logical statement is that you come across as a right self-righteous tosser.
Your so-called parable, which basically says anyone who doesn't think like yourself will die an early death, is the sort of nonsense I'm glad I've left behind. Do you know how insulting these kind of comments are? No, I suppose you don't.

the majority of them died well before their ?time? had come
those who did not change their ways died within a short period of time
I'm glad I've left bs like this behind.

What must we do to be saved?
by Dawn injw's love this topic and have a long list of "do's & don'ts" that need to be completed in order to be saved.
as you all know - it is a "works based" belief - if you do enough you might make it.
i have struggled with that concept since i was little, wondering how in the world we could ever do enough to be considered worthy.

I believe that at some point in your life, God will make himself known to you in some form. I believe the method he makes himself known to you may not necessarily be in the form of "Christ".
Thank you for those words. It's not happened yet but hopefully one day it will.

I believe once you accept Christ into your heart and accept him as your Savior, that you're saved.
Does that mean Taoists, Buddhists and Hindus are screwed??
